AV Rant #309: Halloween Off Board

October 23rd, 2012

In case you weren’t confused enough, 4k is getting a new name. JVC has a new TV that doesn’t quite make sense to Tom but Liz sorts of gets it. At least she thinks she does. Simple.TV gets kickstarter money and actually launches on time. Unlike the video game Haunts. What does this mean for future crowdfunded projects? Tom talks about amplifiers for Daniel. Here are a few links for you to peruse. Thanks for listening. Now, don't forget to:

  • Check out the AV Rant YouTube channel to watch our show videos.

On Halloween in Australia wasn’t it European to begin with and the US just bought the Razzmatazz. There are some areas in OZ that do try and get it off the ground kids love it (Iv’e been to the US and I like some of the caramel pumpkin lollies). But these days isn’t all Xraying the candy and Stranger Danger! Give me Carnival, Octoberfest and that Venetion mask thingey.

Over in Perth, in January one one of those really hot days roll down to the Ocean Beach Hotel Cottesloe those big bay windows (if they are still there) and with a beer your best headphones and the sun setting over the sea and listen to Fleetwood Macs “Albatross” – life affirming Australian activity.

On Class D amplifiers – have you heard of MCLELLAND-PALM CLASS D POWER MODULE POWER a local retailer has them and I am not sure they say on their tag under the units “Alledgedly good sound” and $250 bucks.
