Took the kids to see National Treasure: Book of Secrets today. Before the movie there was a Goofy short entitled “How to Hook Up Your Home Theater.†It was worth the price of admission alone! Goofy gets home theater envy and goes to the big box store called “Shiny Stuff†or something like that. He gets all the stuff including the following speakers: center channel, left and right speakers, further left and right speakers, surround speakers, surrounding surround speakers, subwoofer and “make you deaf†speakers. I don’t know if everyone else found it as funny as I did, but since I have lived it, I was rolling in the aisle.
Guitar Hero ROCKS!!!!!
I have seen the game. I have heard Tom talk about the game (incessantly). But I had never played the game. Never really cared to play the game… until the kids got the game from their grandparents to play on their new Wii. As soon as I strummed my first note, I was hooked. I still haven’t made it passed “easy†and I have yet to start a career. But it’s just a matter of time. Soon, the kids will have to go back to school and go to bed early and THEN I can “Rock N Roll All Night!!!â€
It is difficult to remember that I am the grown up and I must share the game with the kids. I am the grown up. I AM!

dina Tom is out of the country and I am just not that angry. So, I’ll give Bob a chance to get something off his chest…
I was having a bad day at work on Friday. One of those days when you get to the office and all heck has broken loose over night. And to cap all that off, the office was out of caffeinated coffee. Not a good way to start the best day of the week.

I am currently in J.’s and my hotel room in downtown Denver. It is 1:30. In the morning. To me, it is actually 3:30 AM. Because I am from the east coast. I am so unbelievable tired. So why, pray tell, am I posting instead of sleeping????
It is because J. and I are not alone. Clint, Gene, Tony and J. are all here, computers at work, posting stories. CEDIA coverage. Now, out of all four hotel rooms between the seven audiohaulics team members, guess whose room has the best internet signal. Time’s up. MINE!!! They even went to the lobby for a while and still ended up here. Tony is in a chair, J. is at the desk, Gene is in my bed (!) and I am sitting on a bed with Clint (!!) They are showing NO signs of exit behavior. Send help. I am serious.
Apparently, Clint gave me “press status†for this weekend (insert laugh here). To date, I have received 97 emails from various venders. I have been invited to cocktail parties, classes (yawn), tours, lunches, parties, appointments, etc. I am overwhelmed and I am still in my hometown airport! All I know is that within 24 hours I will be in what has been described as a vast convention hall filled with gear and geeks and all sorts of madness. And I am excited about it! (What has happened to me? The dark side is winning…)
My favorite press email came from Snap AV. The subject line read, “Dina, Are you wearing socks to CEDIA?†Yes, I agree. That does seem to be a bit personal, but at least they didn’t ask about undergarments, so I read on. The email reads, “When you visit us at CEDIA, please be sure to wear socks…because we plan on KNOCKING THEM OFF.†Well, all I have to say about that is, a) it is the only email I actually read start to finish. (They even have a “Sock-Knocking Strategy,†by the way.) And b) I actually packed socks! (I was afraid that if I went sockless, I might lose another piece of clothing, which just sounds dangerous and very unprofessional.) So, I will be heading to Booth #594, Sound Room #18 and I will report back. Will I still be wearing my socks? We shall see…
PS Just a thought that frightens me: If Snap AV is Booth #594 could that possibly mean there are at least 594 booths there???? Help me…
