Rob is out this week from a bad case of drilling. Or being drilled. We’re not sure. Tom apologizes for not getting this podcast up in time to get your questions for Val. You’ll have to stick around to the end to understand what we’re talking about. This week, Chromecast kills AnyCast but gets on iOS. A preliminary review of the V-MODA Crossfade M-100 and the BoomPro Mics (used for this podcast). Time Warner and CBS are still fighting but now TW has pulled out an option that literally no one could have predicted. The new Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 2030 Projector – $999 for a dedicated home theater projector? Call Tom impressed. An interesting listener problem with an unlikely fix. Tom is both sick and testing out a new mic. So forgive the audio quality on his side. Liz has had a busy week and we just couldn’t coordinate. She’ll be back next week for sure. Rob and Tom discuss OLED TVs, listener questions, the new TiVos, and Aperion Audio. If that doesn’t sound like a lot, it is. Rob’s suggestion for this week is Harman’s “How to Listen” program. It’s free. Tom recommends YSAP (You Suck at Photoshop). Learn a few Photoshop tips while being entertained. It’s worth it.

Hopefully, this podcast will have the full audio file for you. This week, listener emails from Kris, Jackson, and Michael. North Korea gets a smartphone, BenQ goes wireless, and Comcast is thinking of advertising to pirates! SmX screens and other debacles. Hyperloop which no one really cares about (at least Tom doesn’t). Subwoofer crawl how to and why to. This post contains the sweep Rob and Tom mentioned.

This is an EXTRA episode of AV Rant. Our regular weekly episode will come out later this week. One of our listeners sent us a link to a review of the Yamaha NS-C310 center channel. Let us be clear that we have never heard this speaker and are in no way making a judgement on how it sounds. As far as we know, it truly is the best center channel in the price range. But the review had a few…inaccuracies and misconceptions about how speakers work. It is to this end we hope to inform our listeners. Without further adieu, here is Rob and Tom reviewing TopTenReviews review of the Yamaha NS-C310.
