This week is a hodgepodge of information. Tom and Dina start off talking about movies which brings up a pet peeve of Tom’s: buying movies simply because of good sound. Tom touches on how to solve your buzzing problems. The age old “is bigger better?” question is definitively answered by Tom… sort of. What’s the best “price is no object” system? Tom reveals it. I love ya Tom but from now on, leave the movie reviews to Dina. I didn’t love the movie Shooter, but having a black guy and a white guy in the same film doesn’t make it like another film. To even draw that connection seems a bit asinine to me.
My favorite audio system was at Listen Up in Denver. They had an all-tube system hooked up to a pair of Martin Logan electrostatic speakers. When I’m rich…

What’s up with “you can make a good movie, or you can make a movie with a message.”? Hello…didn’t you just see “Dr. Strangelove”?
I didn’t much care for “The Last Mimsy” either. However, I thought the best sound effects were in the scene on the beach, when the sounds of the bugs & stuff was swirling around and fading in & out like some kind of weird radio.
And no, I didn’t buy the movie just for that.
