I’m very uncomfortable knowing that I unwittingly participated in AV phone sex…

Was it good for you? ‘Cause it was great for me 😈

On a separate note, I can’t believe I was right about Idol! Dude, that show so sucks I can’t even believe it. When Chris made it into the final 20 (or whatever it was) I didn’t think he deserved it. I bet though that he’ll be one of the most popular Idols after Underwood.

Kris just had wider appeal. Adam was polarizing. Lots of people loved his renditions, but lots of people hated them too. People always think that the “tweens” decide the whole thing, but millions of people watch and vote and singers like David Cook and Kris Allen just have wider appeal.

Never-the-less – all of the top four ought to be pretty successful with their albums. No one is going to touch Carrie Underwood though – good golly that girl can sing!

Man, the audio cutouts on ooVoo are killing me… Kudos for putting it out there anyway – I usually listen to you while on my tractor – so it’s interesting to see you guys* do your thing sometimes too…

*Note: us midwesterners** will call a group of people “guys”, no matter what identity reproductive organs those in said group might carry around with them…

**I now live in eastern TN, so I’m just clinging to my roots here.

    “Your comment is awaiting moderation.”

That’s pretty funny. It’s taken me twenty years to figure out how to moderate my comments; old necessities die hard. Ha!

On your PS3 remote problem, if you’ve got a Logitech remote, they just released a bluetooth to IR bridge device.

    http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Harmony-Adapter-Playstation-3/dp/B00267S7XW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1242966445&sr=8-1

I assume you can use it with other universal remotes if you can find the codes online.

Also, there’s a round up here:

    http://www.remotecentral.com/reviews/ps3_control_roundup/index.html

Shame they left out a $2 IR sensor on a $400+ console.

That’s just the way that Sony rolls. There are a lot of things about the PS3 that bug me. After watching Serenity in HD though, much is forgiven 🙂

spencer, I agree, the ooVoo cutouts are killing me too. I wish there was a better way. Anyone got a suggestion?

Are the dropouts due to your local ISP connection or the connection with the ooVoo servers, flaky software or a indeterminate convolution thereof?

Several years ago, I used Webex in my job and though I can’t vouch for the AV quality because I mainly used it to share spreadsheets and stuff like that, I did find the desktop sharing feature to be solid. Might give them a free trial and see what their deal is if you haven’t already. http://www.webex.com

Even if Webex would blow your “budget” (hahahahahaha), you could still try their free trial and see what a supposedly premium-er service is capable of. If it stumbles, then a free service to work as well or better might be hopeless at the moment. Here’s an even more baseless suggestion (but it’s free): http://mail.google.com/videochat

Finally listened all the way through! Awww…I’m not THAT talkative, am I, Tom? 🙁 So bad that I could never be trusted with a phone number? I mean, I only write multi-paragraph, epic length comments here on the website…and via e-mail…and via Twitter (somehow) 😀

    Ok…maybe I see your point :p

    On a different note,

Dina – I think you need to explain to Ryan that your “odd mouth sound” is called “laughter”. I think he may be unfamiliar with it 😉

Tom, I have been using the Nyko Blu-wave remote with the PS3. It come with an IR “dongle” that plugs into the USB port and the Harmony remotes have codes for it so you can use the Harmony or any learning remote. And its only $20. Only thing is you can’t turn on the PS3 with the Blu-wave since the USB is off when the PS3 is off. I just turn it on when I put a disk in.
