So not owning an Apple TV I have a few questions,
can you use Cast from Android devices and chrome web browser to the Apple TV like on the Shield?
What other content platforms is available like Plex, is Kodi or Emby available and can you hook up external hdd drives to watch stored content like on the Shield?
Can you hook up a OTA Dongle to the Apple TV and watch live over the air television and hook up a hard drive to record the live tv and setup a schedule to record automatically?
Can you install IPTV channels onto the Apple TV?
Can it double as an emulation station to play all the retro consoles and have any bluetooth controller including Xbox controllers and PS2 and PS3 controllers hook up?
Has the Apple TVs in the pass have nearly a 5 year software update cycle?
Does Apple TV allow full customization of your launcher/interface?
How does Apple TV voice services work in comparison? Can I tell it to watch a show on whatever App and it will load up the show?
What smart home controls does it offer? which security camera systems can load up on the Apple TV by App or by voice command or auto load when say the ring doorbell or nest hello and so on is triggered?
Does the Apple TV work with Hue Sync? fun to use during parties and playing music.

Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions, given you said that the Apple TV is still your go to with the exception of Plex, just wanted to make sure it could do everything else I mentioned the shield can do especially that live TV part is a big deal in my area and sure beats having to pay through an app for live tv when I can just hook up an Antenna and have a free tv guide and dvr options.

Oh and you can use the NBC app for the Olympics instead of ESPN, better coverage and fantastic interface, it was awesome. 🙂
