AVRant #108: Plaid
January 1st, 2009
Happy New Year everyone! Tom is back so holiday or no, there’s a podcast today. Clint and Tom discuss the Dark Knight DVD, Rock Band 2, TomTom, and other Christmas goodies. Clint’s Memorex review proves that yes, a Blu-ray player can blow. In-wall speakers, learning from the podcast, and hearing as you never have before are on the menu. Tom’s found a new place to eat in Japan thanks to Jonathan, Bob wants a bigger transformer (don’t we all), and power conditioning (is it for you?). 120Hz HDMI? Ha! Our holiday poll results sort of surprised us and Klipsch pusses out – again. Thanks for listening and don’t forget to vote for us at Podcast Alley.

This one hasn’t shown up in the iTunes feed as of 12:00 noon Central Time on the 2nd. Is it there for anyone else?
not me either it is not showing up
Still not there as of today. 🙁
hmmm… not sure why. I’ll check it out. Thanks for the head’s up.
OK, I’ve fixed two of the feeds (the main blog feed and the comment feed) but not the podcast specific feed. I’m banging my head against the WordPress wall trying to figure it out. The person that gives me the fix wins something. I think the problem is that it is a category specific feed but none of the fixes I’ve found online help.
Ha, got it. Sorry about that guys. A bit of ID-10t error there.
Funny #109 showed up in iTunes before #108. I bit the bullet and just downloaded #108 through the website….woe is me.
I don’t understand all of the trash talk of blu-ray. I sit about 6 feet from my 42in screen and can tell a difference. To tell people that under 50in or whatever it just isn’t worth it is retarded. For some people it may or may not be worth it. Maybe suggest they go to a store and check blu-ray out on a TV the same size as their own and at the normal distance they watch movies from. And for being an audio focused podcast, and always banging on the poor quality of mp3s and some CDs, you usually fail to mention the improved audio quality blu-ray offers. Do I think blu-ray is the end-all-be-all of movie formats? Of course not but it is the best we have at the moment and we should enjoy it while we can before we go to downloads with compressed HD video and compressed audio.
That said, I enjoy the show and keep up the good work.
Thanks Tom.
whats with the iTunes comments?! Come on guys get with it.
120Hz still sucks, Klipsch is still YELLA!!, and APC still the man.
