No Thursday Podcast
I could give you a lot of reasons why there won’t be a podcast this Thursday. I could say that it was because I was in a car accident today. I could say it was because we already posted a podcast on Monday. I could claim technical difficulties or too many planes or the fact that I’m coming down with a cold or just about anything. There have been two previous times I’ve rejected a podcast – one before the first podcast we ever published (nearly two years ago). One about a year ago that Dina was kind enough to redo the next day. This time we did have some technical difficulties – the lag was pretty bad. The video cut in and out which was also very distracting. But the simple fact is that this podcast wasn’t up to snuff. We couldn’t keep on topic, it was disjointed, and, frankly, it just wasn’t good enough. While I could fall back on the “it’s only a podcast, people expect it to be a little raw” argument, that’s not me. Dina and I haven’t worked this hard for two years to put out a substandard podcast and just say, “Oops! We’ll do better next time.” Mike from Philly, Mike, and Jason, I got all your questions off the voicemail and I’ll answer them next time. See ya next week!
That’s a shame 🙁 But certainly understandable, Tom 🙂
I look forward to AVRant each and every week and I’d probably be just fine with a less than coherent episode :p But it’s more important that you enjoy the work and letting things slide can deteriorate that sense of pride and ownership.
The good news is that we already got a terrific episode on Monday! And for anyone who misses the Thursday ep., I heartily suggest listening to the Auralex interview for a second or third time!
I already commented in the last post, but once again, I’m very sorry to hear about your car accident 🙁 Good to know that you’re ok and I’ll look forward to next week’s episode (in which you will hopefully be very close to being able to buy a PS3 😉 ).
By the way – it might be fun to one day post a “bloopers” episode, in which we get to hear all of the episodes that were left on the cutting room floor! 😉
That’s fair. Looking forward to the next one!!!

Thanks Tom. Looking forward to the next one. I hope you car is not bad.
Family first! Wishing you and your family all best through this tough time. Take care of yourself and your family, get back to us when they (and you) are okay.
I like the bloopers idea that Rob had, but, I gotta think, maybe, that not that much is cut out of these podcasts!
Get well soon!
The other Tom
tak is right, just about everything that can go in, goes in.
Thank you for keeping the quality of the podcast in mind.
Sorry to hear about the accident, atleast your PS3 fund is going up.
Tom, we are all used to substandard pod casts already. In fact we are so used to them we keep coming back week after week to see just how bad they are going to get.
Now when you don’t put one out we get the idea you are actually going to try and that is not appropriate.
lol @ dezoris.
I just got in a wreck too, Tom. It’s such a pain in the arse dealing with insurance, body shops, and rental cars. Hope everything goes smoothly for you. I’m still dealing with mine, and it’s almost been a month ago.
dezoris – lol. It’s sort of like a train wreck – you can’t help but look… or a car accident… doh!
M – so far the other guy seems very cool – wants to keep the insurance companies out of it. I’ll keep you guys informed.
