Up your geek cred
December 14th, 2007
You need to be familiar with H.P. Lovecraft if you want to have any geek cred at all. Here are some links to help you out. Personally, I own the collected and unedited works of Lovecraft from Arkham House Publishers.
- Background
- Wikithulhu
- Fun
- Comic with Lovecraftian theme
- Don’t want to pay for some books? Read them online. I suggest At the Mountains of Madness and The Colour out of Space. The Call of Cthulhu is great too. What am I saying?! They’re all great.
Want to buy the unedited books from Arkham House for your geek? You want this one, this one, and this one and you’ll have just about everything he ever wrote. They won’t fit in a stocking but believe me, they are cool. Many of the books you’ll get at your local store are edited pretty heavily. If you are familiar with these books, you can tell who just bought different editions because they’ll use wrong words or quotes. And there is nothing a geek likes more than feeling smug and superior 🙂 .
